CMIP5 and LOCA climatologies for historical and RCP8.5 with R code and mask files

Description

Related to an upcoming analysis in a manuscript prepared for submission to Geophysical Research Letters, this holds the files used and a copy of the R code used for analysis.  The following files are included:

  • GRLpaper_analysis.R - R code for analysis of files and production of graphics
  • pr_GCM_climo_CONUS.nc - Historical (1976-2005) climatology of annual precipitation for pre-downscaled CMIP5 GCMs interpolated to the grid of Livneh v. 1.2. Also includes the Livneh v.1.2 climatology of annual precipitation and the 29 member ensemble mean. NetCDF file format
  • pr_GCM_climo_rcp85_CONUS.nc - RCP 8.5 future (2070-2099) climatology of annual precipitation for pre-downscaled CMIP5 GCMs interpolated to the grid of Livneh v. 1.2. Also includes the Livneh v.1.2 historical (1976-2005) climatology of annual precipitation and the 29 member ensemble mean of the RCP 8.5 future.NetCDF file format

  • maskname-mask.nc - For the states and National Climate Assessment (NCA) regions, these files contain the a spatial mask for the region described in the first part of the file (maskname). The masks include the following:
    • NE-NCA - Northeast NCA region
    • SE-NCA - Southeast NCA region
    • MW-NCA - Midwest NCA region
    • NGP-NCA - Northern Great Plains NCA region
    • SGP-NCA - Southern Great Plains NCA region
    • NW-NCA - Northwest NCA region
    • SW-NCA - Southwest NCA region
    • oklahoma - state of Oklahoma
    • kentucky - state of Kentucky
    • north_carolina - state of North Carolina
    • louisiana - state of Louisiana
    • florida - state of Florida
