Long-Term Monitoring of a Permanent Plot Reveal-ing the Disturbance-Recovery Regime of the Conifer-ous Forest in Subalpine Changbai Mountain of North-east China

Authors/Creators

Description

This dataset contains 41 years of growth monitoring of the subalpine spruce-fir forest in Changbai Mountain. It also contains tree species and DBH data of forest stands after initial and long-term monitoring.

With this data we studied the changes in volume growth during the natural growth of these forest stands and described the changes in tree species composition and spatial structure of the subalpine spruce-fir forest.

Upon the establishment of the permanent plot in 1981, all trees ≥ 8.0 cm diameter at breast height (DBH) were tagged with spatial coordinates measured, and a crown projection diagram of the entire plot was drawn. Reexaminations were made in 1992, 2007 and 2022. We used the spatial distribution null model, which assumed total spatial randomization, to examine how habitat heterogeneity affected population spatial distributions (CSR).
