Description
Data belonging to the article 'Plastic Politics. Revisiting Politicisation and Depoliticisation in Post-War Dutch History', BMGN - Low Countries Historical Review 140:1 (2025) 1-32.
The data contains:
- The diachronic frequencies for all nouns in the dataset of parliamentary speeches that meet the frequency threshold used for creating the FastText models.
- The diachronic abstractness scores for all nouns in the dataset of parliamentary speeches. These scores are calculated according to the method outlined in the article.
- Words identified as subject to conducive abstraction.
- Words identified as subject to plastification.
The last two tables contain various types of information about the frequency and abstractness trends belonging to a word (identified as subject to conducive abstraction / plastification):
- start_a: start index of detected period of abstractness increase/decrease
- stop_a: end index of detected period of abstractness increase/decrease
- start_f: start index of detected period of frequency increase/decrease
- stop_f: end index of detected period of frequency increase/decrease
- slope_a/f: slope of trend in detected period of frequency/abstractness increase/decrease
- l_a/f: length of detected period of frequency/abstractness increase/decrease
- a/f_difference: difference in frequency/abstractness in detected period of frequency/abstractness increase/decrease
- ccf_period: Spearman correlation between frequency/abstractness in detected period of frequency/abstractness increase/decrease
- a/f_min/max_period: minimum/maximum frequency/abstractness values in detected period of frequency/abstractness increase/decrease
- a/f_min/max_full: minimum/maximum frequency/abstractness values in full frequency/abstractness time series
- start/end_v_a/f: value of frequency/abstractness at start/end of detected period of frequency/abstractness increase/decrease
- a/f_minmax_diff: difference between minimum and maximum value of frequency/abstractness in detected period of frequency/abstractness increase/decrease
