Description

Dataset used in the paper: Correlation of Lagged GNSS Scintillation and Auroral Precipitation using Multi-Instrument Observations. (pre-submission).

Contains:

(1) ASK1_ASK3_20160111190816r1.zip

ASK data. Instrument PI: Dan Whiter (University of Southampton, UK)

Example filename: 20160111190816r1_F7350bkg_adj_w4clipping.csv

20160111190816 is UT timestamp (YYYYMMDDhhmmss) of the start of the data block. r1 indicates ASK1 camera. 7350 is the frame number (first frame is number 1).

Data are images in 256x256 csv arrays (background subtracted and sigma clipped to remove stars). Units are counts. North is approximately in the direction of increasing row number (downward). Cadence is 20 frames per second. Frames in dataset: 7350 to 17519, inclusive.

20160111190816r1 files (ASK1, 6730 Å)

Conversion factor (counts --> Rayleighs): 42.76

Degrees per pixel: 0.024383251

Magnetic zenith (column,row): (147.88068,150.31842)

20160111190816r3 files (ASK3, 7774 Å)

Conversion factor (counts --> Rayleighs): 31.90

Degrees per pixel: 0.024263274

Magnetic zenith (column,row): (146.70960,150.05793)

(2) WATEC_2016011.zip

WATEC panchromatic all-sky imager data. Instrument PI: Yasunobu Ogawa (National Institue of Polar Research, Japan)

Example filename: wat_ly7_16-01-11_19-00-00-17.jpg

wat: camera system, WATEC

ly7: location, KHO, Longyearbyen; and camera number

16-01-11_19-00-00-17: timestamp (YY-MM-DD_hh-mm-ss-cs) (cs = hundredths of a second)

Images between 19UT and 20UT for 2016/01/11 included. Images courtesy of Yasunobu Ogawa.

(3) 1sec_s4_sphi.txt

1-second S_4 and sigma_phi GNSS scintillation indices. Processed from 50 Hz raw data obtained by GISTM at KHO. Instrument PI: Kjellmar Oksavik (University of Bergen)

Data columns:

entry number, datetime, frequency, satellite, S_4 index, sigma_phi index

(4) lat_lon.txt

1-minute WGS-84 coordinates of 110 km ionospheric pierce points.

Data columns:
