The "dem.asc" dataset used in this example is an ASCII raster extracted from tile n34w119 of the USGS National Elevation Dataset (http://nationalmap.gov), centered on Santa Catalina Island, California. The "quarries.shp" dataset is a shapefile of simulated quarry locations.
