IMPLEMENTATION OF MOSFET BASED DIODE CLAMPED 3 LEVEL INVERTER

Three level inverters have become more popular over the years in electric high power application with the promise of less disturbances and the possibilit y to function at lower switching frequencies than ordinary two-level inverters. This paper presents i nformation about several Three level inverter topologies,such as the Neutral-Point Clamped Inver ter and the Cascaded Monticello Inverter. These Three level inverters will also be compared with tw o-level inverters in simulations to investigate the advantages of using Three level inverters. Modulati on strategies,component comparison and solutions to the Three level voltage source balanci ng problem will also be presented in this work.
