This repository holds the source code and data for the manuscript Using digital epidemiology methods to monitor influenza-like illness in the Netherlands in real time: the 2017-2018 season by Schneider PP, van Gool CJAW, Spreeuwenberg P, Donker G, Barnett DJ, Paget J,. Until publication, please see the PREPRINT version.

The source code is provided here or at our Github repository under a CC BY license. Influenza-like illness data were provided by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), following a request in accordance with EU regulation 1049/2001. The data were collected through the primary care network of the Netherlands Institute of Health Service Research (NIVEL). For the methodology see Donker 2015. Online search query data were taken from Google trends.
