Description

This dataset comprises the results of tests designed to assess spatial cognitive abilities in 115 children aged 9 to 11 years. Specifically, it includes scores from two cognitive assessments: a Mental Rotation Test and a Spatial Visualization Test. Additionally, the dataset provides demographic and contextual information about the participants, such as their gender, age, school year, classroom, and favorite academic subject. The dataset also categorizes whether the children’s favorite subject is STEM-related or not. The data were collected to investigate patterns in spatial reasoning and their relationships to gender, educational environment, and interest in STEM disciplines. This resource offers insights for research in developmental psychology, education, and cognitive science, supporting studies on the development of spatial cognitive skills and the influence of academic interests during middle childhood.
