Description

Three bifurcation of the AMOC experiments performed with the cGenie model. 

 

  1. Bifurcation experiment of the AMOC with a CO2 forcing over 40 000 years spanning concentration from 280 ppm in the atmosphere up to 2800 ppm and then back to 280 ppm in a tent function. 
  2. Bifurcation experiment of the AMOC with a freshwater foring and a constant CO2 forcing. One hosing is addded from -0.2 Sv up to 0.3 Sv and then back to -0.2 Sv  in a tent function over 20 000 years. The freshwater is added between 50°N - 70°N and 45°W and 5°E with constant salinity over the global ocean. 
  3. Bifurcation experiment of the AMOC with a freshwater foring and a constant CO2 forcing. One hosing is addded from -0.2 Sv up to 0.3 Sv and then back to -0.2 Sv  in a tent function over 20 000 years. The freshwater is added between 20°N - 50°N and across the Atlantic ocean with constant salinity over the global ocean.
