Economic performance under Democratic vs. Republican presidencies

The file dem_rep_processed.xlsx is a processed dataset contains quarterly real GDP, unemployment rate, recession, and presidency information for the United States post World War II from Truman to Obama. It was downloaded and processed from Blinder & Watson (2016) (DOI: 10.1257/aer.20140913).

The script to process the raw data and recreate all the figures is called dem_rep.py.
