This repository contains the daily covariance matrices used as input data for the tremor analysis in the paper "Dynamics of the 2021 Fagradalsfjall eruption (Iceland) revealed by volcanic tremor patterns" submitted to Journal of Geophysical Research - Solid Earth by Soubestre J., Caudron C., Melnik O., Lecocq T., Jaupart C., Shapiro N.M., Journeau C., Çubuk-Sabuncu Y., and Jónsdóttir K.

Repository 1/2: days 078 to 177.

Each daily file is a numpy binary file in the npz format which can be read with the numpy.load method in Python. This returns a dictionary-like object containing four keys :
+ t: time vector (in matplotlib format);
+ f: frequency vector, here in the 0.5-4 Hz frequency range;
+ covmat: complex-valued daily covariance matrix of dimensions [t x f x N x N], with t the time vector, f the frequency vector, and N the number of available stations this day;
+ station_list: the list of stations available this day.

These daily npz files can be used as input data in the Python package Covseisnet (Tong et al., 2024), in order to :
+ detect tremor patterns as in Figures 2 and 3, using a script similar to this example from the github gallery;
+ locate tremor sources as in Figures 5 and 9, using a script similar to this example from the github gallery.
