ECMWF/ENS - 2021 - Great Britain

Dataset of ensemble Numerical Weather Predictions used as input for the probabilistic wind power forecasting tool developed for the paper: Seamless short- to mid-term probabilistic wind power forecasting.

The Dataset ECMWF-ENS is licenced under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) and is subject to ECMWF terms of use. It contains the numerical weather operational forecasts related to the ensemble model ENS  provided by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The data was downloaded from the TIGGE archive using the ECMWF Web API.

 

The dataset contains operational forecasts for the base times of 00 UCT and 12 UTC for 2021. Each file is related to a base time date and is organized in folders according to the base time year. The files are in NetCDF format and are named according to the tigge-GB_<base time date in yyyymmddHH>.grib pattern.

 

The files comprise the latitudes from 50º to 59.5º and the longitudes from -8º to 3.5º. They contain the following single-level variables: 10 metre U wind component, 10 metre V wind component, 2 metre temperature, 2 metre dewpoint temperature, total column water, mean sea level pressure, surface net solar radiation, total cloud cover, and total precipitation.
