VGG Image Annotator

VGG Image Annotator (VIA) is a manual image annotation tool to define and describe regions in an image. The region shape can be rectangle, circle, ellipse, polygon, polyline, or a single point. Region descriptions can be plain text or a set of predefined options presented to manual annotators as checkbox, dropdown menu, radio buttons or image list. This tool supports bulk update of annotations corresponding to a large set of images (e.g. frames extracted from a video). VIA is an open source project developed solely using HTML, CSS and Javascript and therefore runs in most modern web browsers without requiring access to the Internet. The full application does not depend on any external Javascript libraries and is packaged as a single HTML file of size < 400 KB. The annotations created using this tool can be exported in JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and Comma Separated Value (CSV) formats. Most new users will already know how to interact with the user interface of this application because the user interface of this application is based on standard user interface components found in most web sites.
