Resisting the Rule of Men

  • 1. University of Iowa

Description

This is a response to commentary (by Colleen Murphy, Robin West, Chad Flanders and Matt Lister) on my The Rule of Law in the Real World (Cambridge, 2016) in which I further defend the egalitarian principle of generality and its relationship to the classic idea of a contrast between the rule of law and the rule of (wo)men, Jim Crow, the difference between private oppression and state oppression, rape culture, and arbitrary official power over migrants, among other issues. Published in St. Louis Law Journal v. 62, n. 2, pp. 333-359 (2018).
