DETERMINATION OF COPPER, IRON, AND NICKEL IN SERUM OF MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION PATIENTS BY FLAME ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROMETRY.

Description

Trace elements may play an vital role in the development of MI. The differences between the concentration of Copper, Iron, and Nickel that has occurred during the Myocardial Infarction by the determination of the concentration of these elements in both patients and healthy control subjects. The study included 60 number of cases of MI and equal number of matched healthy control. The results shows an increasing in the levels of all tested elements Cu, Fe, & Ni with (P< 0.05) in MI patients which are found to be statistically significant. In addition, we found slight differences in the elements concentration when compared according to the gender.
