COMPARISON OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVELS OF MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The aim of this study is to compare the physical activity levels of middle school students and high school students in Çanakkale. 426 female 417 male volunteers participated in the study between the ages of 10-17. The PAQ questionnaire developed by Kowalski et al to determine physical activity levels of students participating in the study were applied. The answers given by the students to the questionnaires were collected in the excel program and the data was entered in the SPSS program. Participants' responses were analyzed using mean and standard deviations using the T test. The mean age of the students in the middle school was 12.16 ± 1.23, the mean age of the male students was 12.23 ± 1.24, the mean age of the female students in the high school was 16.31 ± 1.17 and the mean age of male students was 16.32 ± 1.29. Female students in secondary school had BMI of 18,95 ± 3,13, male students of 19,18 ± 3,78, female students of high school of BMI of 20,92 ± 3,31 and male students of 22,21 ± 5,36. Physical activity scores of high school girls and boys were 1,88 ± 0,61; Found to be 2.36 ± 0.73 Physical activity scores of middle school girls and boys were 2.71 ± 0.79; 2.93 ± 0.77 were found. Physical activity scores of high school girls and boys were 1,88 ± 0,61; 2.36 ± 0.73 were found. According to the high school students of the secondary school, the physical activity scores were found to be high in both genres. The girls' physical activity scores were lower in boys than boys in both genres.
