Description
This repository contains the code needed to reproduce the main results of the paper "Soft self-assembly of Weyl materials for light and sound", Michel Fruchart, Seung-Yeol Jeon, Kahyun Hur, Vadim Cheianov, Ulrich Wiesner, Vincenzo Vitelli, PNAS 2018, arXiv:1711.11019.
It consists in several things:
- Control files to be run with the open-source software MIT Photonic Bands (MPB, version 1.5, available at https://mpb.readthedocs.io/ and https://github.com/stevengj/mpb) and python codes (version 3.6) used to analyse the output, including the computation of the charges of the Weyl points (first Chern numbers) from the numerical eigenvectors (called "weyl_charge.py" in the manuscript), in mpb.zip
- Python codes (version 3.6) to analyse the symmetry of numerical eigenvectors and determine the corresponding irreducible representations (called "irreps.py" in the manuscript), in code.zip. The numerical eigenvectors at Gamma that we computed are also included in eigenvectors_at_gamma.zip.
- Jupyter notebook (IPython 6.2, Python 3.6, Jupyter 5.2) with Python code based on the open-source library spglib (version 1.10, available at https://atztogo.github.io/spglib/) to determine the space group of the structures, in particular under strain (called "space_group.py" in the manuscript), in code.zip.
- Jupyter notebook (IPython 6.2, Python 3.6, Jupyter 5.2) with Python code computing the spectrum of the effective Hamiltonian, in code.zip.
All code is released under the 2-clause BSD license (see LICENSE).
