Data from: Ground-dwelling invertebrate communities in mountain grasslands in South Tyrol (Italy): Surveying changes in abundances, diversity, and sex ratio

Here, we provide raw abundance data from a small-scale case study on ground-dwelling macro-invertebrate communities in an extensively managed dry pasture and an intensively managed hay meadows in the LT(S)ER area "Val Mazia/Matschertal" in South Tyrol, Italy. The fauna was sampled with the pitfall trap methods over a full vegetation period (split in two halves). Araneae were identified to species level, the rest – where possible – to family level.

The abundance data (activity densities) can be found as absolute numbers (i.e. individuals per pitfall trap) and as standardised numbers (i.e. individuals per sampling day). Additionally, we provide the sex ratios for all the Araneae species.
