MoTUS data for 2018

Description

This dataset is collected from the Measurement of Turbulence in an Urban Setup (MoTUS) project for the month of November and December 2018. Daily files for each of the instruments are zipped with 7z.

Each zip file contains 13 files from the each instrument and is named ddmmyyXXX.txt, where ddmmyy is the date and XXX is either anem#_20Hz for the anemometers, radiometre for the net radiometer, meteo for the meteorological station and mat, North, South, East and West for the surface temperature sensors).

For all of the anemometers - GILL Wind Master - (except for anemometer 12 and 14), the file is structured as:

Column 1: Node

Column 2: Wind direction (°)

Column 3: Horizontal wind speed (ms-1)

Column 4: Vertical wind speed (ms-1)

Column 5: Unit standards

Column 6: Sonic speed (ms-1)

Column 7: Sonic temperature (K)

Column 8: Time stamp

Column 9: Communication port

For anemometer 12 and 14 - GILL Wind Master RA - , the file is structured as:

Column 1: Node

Column 2: Horizontal wind speed in the x-direction (ms-1)

Column 3: Horizontal wind speed in the y-direction (ms-1)

Column 4: Vertical wind speed (ms-1)

Column 5: Unit standards

Column 6: Sonic speed (ms-1)

Column 7: Sonic temperature (K)

Column 8: Time stamp

Column 9: Communication port

The data from the meteorological station is structured as:

Column 1: Node

Column 2: Pressure (hPa)

Column 3: Relative humidity (%)

Column 4: Air temperature(°C)

Column 5: Dew point temperature (°C)

Column 6: Station time

Column 7: Supply voltage

Column 8: Status

Column 9: Checksum

Column 10: Time stamp

The data from the net radiometer - Kipp & Zonen CNR4 - is structured as:

Column 1: Pyranometer Upper Irradiance [W/m^2]

Column 2: Pyranometer Lower Irradiance [W/m^2]

Column 3: Pyrgeometer Upper Irradiance [W/m^2]

Column 4: Pyrgeometer Lower Irradiance [W/m^2]

Column 5: Albedo computed [-] (Between [0;1] - Snow : 0.9 ; Grassland : 0.3.)

Column 6: Net Solar radiation [W/m^2](Solar radiation that is absorbed by the earth surface. Always positive. 0 at night.) ntr=[] #Net (total) radiation [W/m^2]

Column 7: Net Far Infrared radiation [W/m^2] (o Often negative. Roughly independent of ambient temperature.)

Column 8: Sky temperature [°C](Clear conditions : sky temperature lower than ambient temperature & cloudy conditions : sky temperature is equal to ambient temperature.)

Column 9: Ground temperature [°C] (Assumed to be roughly equal to ambiant temperature. May be lower than ambient temperature during the night and higher during the day.)

Column 10: Ground temperature [°C] 

Column 11: Radiometer temperature [°C]

Column 12: Timestamp

The data from the surface temperatures  - Optris - is structured as:

Column 1: Surface temperature

Column 2: Albedo (assigned)

Column 3: Time stamp
