Light-yield response of liquid scintillators using 2-6 MeV tagged neutrons
Authors/Creators
Description
Data taken at the Source Testing Facility (STF) at Nuclear Physics, Lund University, Sweden (2021-2023). For further details regarding the experimental setup see the paper based on this data set. The code used for the analysis can be found here: https://gitlab.com/ANPLU/nppp
Data was taken and simulated for two four different detector materials: NE 213A, EJ 305, EJ 331 and EJ 321P. There are three types of data-sets:
- DATA_gamma
- DATA_neutron
- SIMULATION_gamma
- SIMULATION_neutron
All data sets are structured as even-by-event data. All data was recorded using a CAEN VX1751 digitizer (see article).
Every DATA_gamma set contains multiple runs (1h per run) and each run is segmented into multiple *.parquet files.
The DATA_neutron set is segmented into 2-6.25 MeV in 250 keV bins containing the light-yield spectra and random TOF spectra used for random correlation.
The SIMULATION is done on a individual scintillation photon level and comes in a *.csv format.
Information:
- DATA_gamma: Used for calibration. Done using mono-energetic gamma sources.
- Data_neutron: Tagged neutron data from PuBe source. Format: *.csv
- SIMULATION_gamma: Used for calibration. Simulated mono-energetic gamma sources.
- SIMULATION_neutron: Simulated individual neutron energies (+/-125 keV) used to derive scintillation yield of each detector material.
File structure:
- Scintillator type name
- DATA or SIMULATION
- calibration / neutrons
- gamma source / energy
In case of SIMULATIONS_calibration there are both pencilbeam and isotropic versions.
