Description

Status. K0 final author draft in the series Society, Justice, Peace & Violence (index DOI 10.5281/zenodo.22342043) and When AI Expands Human Potential (index DOI 10.5281/zenodo.22308201). "Final" names the manuscript state, not validation, publication, or independent certification. Definitions at tier definition, interpretations at Dr; the only executed result is a two-node fixture at finite_diagnostic. No human data, no coefficient estimates. Continues the programme papers The Causal Grammar of Structured Coexistence, Causal Ethics, Violence as a Special Case of Instability and Causal Agency, and the Readout Genesis / Readout Universe epistemic core.

Version 2 (same day). Four lemmas proved on the discrete linear spine (fixed-point invariance and recurrence, linear-in-time force bill with its exact rate, Sherman–Morrison operator change at zero ongoing force, neighbour floor) with a 60-instance random-graph battery carrying passing and failing controls; an exact identifiability certificate (two models, identical record law, potential 729/1000 vs 729/5000); the witness rule sharpened with a declared comparability relation; capability-theory definitions (Sen, Nussbaum, Robeyns) recorded as challenges to the witness rule and answered; Vygotsky's zone of proximal development carded as the oldest statement of D1; the two-layer distinction carried as an open conjecture; 29 verified citation cards (rule 17: link, page, line, one verbatim passage, each re-located by a fresh headless session of the same model, class I1) and three claim cards with nine adversarial review reports, all public in the glosa repository. Knowledge state stays K0.

In brief. "Potential" is the load-bearing word of peace research (violence as the gap between actual and potential realizations), of capability theory, of information-theoretic agency (empowerment as channel capacity), and of this programme's own agency papers (viable regions, admissible regimes, feasible life-space). Every one of these accounts declares a set of feasible options and then measures against it; none says how the set itself is read. This note proposes that potential is a readout, not a hidden quantity: the envelope of a witnessed option set (a finite, enumerable set under a retained selection rule), in two layers (choosing within a constraint structure, and changing that structure), kept apart from what was exercised and from what an evaluator observes, with compression diagnosed separately from the attribution of responsibility. Seven distinctions are stated as non-collapse rules (two registered as NC-78 and NC-79 in the glosa methodology); the joint-event definition of corrigible agency potential is restated on the witnessed set; corrigibility and spectral support are made readable through a correction-channel presence test and a repair rate; "pseudo-peace" is defined as the collapse of a three-valued evidence gate into a two-valued one and given a numerical signature on a fail-able two-node fixture (bounded amplitude suppression is followed by recurrence; unbounded suppression holds only while paid for and its cumulative force grows without bound; an operator-level change reaches the same calm with zero ongoing force). Four falsifiable propositions are stated with the observation that would defeat each.
