Predictive Use of a Universal Scaling Fingerprint
Authors/Creators
Description
A universal scaling fingerprint characterized by an approximately invariant quantity
Q(m)=mΔ(m)≈2 has been observed across multiple unrelated domains.
Here we explore a minimal predictive use: deviations from the invariant plateau
serve as an early-warning indicator for impending regime change.
We present a simple forecasting protocol based on tracking the stability of the
Q(m) plateau over time and show how this converts a descriptive scaling signature
into a falsifiable prediction rule.
