Description
47. Clepsis species.
Three specimens of an unidentified species of Clepsis were examined, in addition to 22 specimens not identified beyond the genus-level, all in the CUIC and MEM. Clepsis is a taxonomically challenging genus in Mesoamerica as there are many externally similar species, and genitalia are often not helpful in one of the sexes; a number of species are only known from only a single sex, and there are numerous undescribed species.
Specimens examined: Honduras: Dept. Intibucá, La Esperanza-Intibucá, 17 Mar 1980 (3 adults), at lights, S. Passoa (CUIC, SCPC). Dept. Francisco Morazán, Zamorano, Escuela Agrícola Panamericana, 8 Dec 1978 (1 adult), S. Passoa (CUIC). Dept. Comayagua, Comayagua, 15 Aug 1979 (2 adults), 28 Jun 1979 (2 adults), S. Passoa (CUIC).
