Three paratypes are deposited in NMPC (type collection):
PARATYPF (♀): ʻCOLL.MUS. CONGO / Madagascar:Mandraka / II–1944 / A. Seyrig [p] // Ambositra ♀ / famosa n.g. n.sp. / Det. L. Masner, 1958 [hw, pencil] // Paratypus [hw, pink label]ʼ (Fig. 1).
PARATYPF (♀): ʻCOLL.MUS. CONGO / Madagascar: Ambositra / II–1944 / A. Seyrig [p] // Ambositra ♀ / famosa n.g. n.sp. / Det. L. Masner, 1958 [hw, pencil] // Paratypus [hw, pink label]ʼ.
PARATYPF (♀): ʻMadagaskar / Mandraka / A. Seyrig [hw] / II.1944 [hw, vertically written] // Ambositra ♀ / famosa n.g. n.sp. / Det. L. Masner, 1958 [hw, pencil] // Paratypus [hw, pink label]ʼ.
Current status. Valid species (JoHNsoN 1992, NoTToN 2007 and MADL 2015).
Distribution. Afrotropical, known from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar and South Africa (MAsNFR 1961, JoHNsoN 1992, NoTToN 2007 and MADL 2015).
