Description

We implemented a pollen-based biomization algorithm in R, to calculate the biomization affinity scores, following the description in Prentice et al. (1996). Prior to calculation, all pollen taxa should be assigned to plant functional types (PFT), and all PFTs should be to assigned to biome types; two matrices about pollen vs PFT and PFT vs biome should be prepared. The threshold and weight (both of them are pollen percentages) for each pollen taxon can be set in a matrix. Pollen percentages for fossil pollen dataset are essential for this algorithm. We have uploaded the corresponding matrices as examples.
