Collaborating on Software Archiving For Institutions
Description
This report describes the Alfred P. Sloan-funded project "Collaborating On Software Archiving For Insitutions" (CoSAI) and provides an update on the project's progress as of June 2022. The project's goal is to create a tool and accompanying workflows that will enable librarians and data curators to archive research software published on web-based Git hosting platforms, along with the context and documentation found on those web platforms (such as issue threads and pull requests), in preservation repositories. CoSAI is a collaboration between researchers, programmers, and librarians at New York University, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Old Dominion University, and the University of Pittsburgh.
