  • Similarly, C. piriformis was reported in E376 and E378 at 2,838 m and 2,910 m respectively. According to Schroder et al. (1989), individuals belonging to this species were reported at 5,800 m; while Kuhnt & Collins (1995), studying the Sargasso Sea and the North Atlantic, recorded family Baculellidae at depths ranging from 4,418 m to 4,654 m. The above could indicate a tendency of this species to inhabit deep areas.
