Yabancı Dil Olarak Türkçe Öğretimi Ders Kitaplarında Şarkı Kullanım Durumlarının İncelenmesi

Songs are educational materials that are listened to and used as a means of entertainment, propaganda, and education in today's world. The wide range of the use and impact of songs makes them preferred as a material in the field of education. In this study, it is aimed to examine in terms of quality and quantity of the usage of songs at each level of the book sets that are widely used in teaching Turkish as a foreign language to reveal the appropriateness of the language structures used in the songs to the levels and to determine the status of the song activities according to the listening stages as before listening, while listening and after listening. Document analysis method with qualitative research approach was used in the study. The songs used in Yediiklim Turkish Teaching Set, Istanbul Turkish Teaching Set, Gazi TÖMER Turkish Teaching Set, Yeni Hitit Turkish Teaching Set, Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Learning 1-2-3-4, Yunus Emre Institute Turkish for Children 1-2 course books were analysed. Determinations were made about how the songs were used in which books and the language structures in the songs in terms of their suitability for the language level. As a result of the research, it was seen that Turkish songs were not used at all in some textbooks in Turkish teaching sets, while they were used frequently in some textbooks. It has been determined that a few songs that used in the textbooks are not suitable for the target language level in the context of language structures, and most of the songs can be used for the target language level. It has been concluded that the stages of the song activities are limited in terms of number and variety and that the activities can be improved. At the end of the study, suggestions were made to improve the quality of Turkish as a foreign language textbooks and activity suggestions were presented for B1 level.
