Stimuli were coded by a combination of three decimals:

	First decimal used for final spectral contrast (C_2):

	1 … 	C_2 = 0
	2 … 	C_2 = 0.5
	3 … 	C_2 = 1

	Second decimal used for initial spectral contrast (C_1):

	10 … 	C_1 = 0
	20 … 	C_1 = 0.5
	30 … 	C_1 = 1

	Third decimal used for azimuth:

	000 … 	90° (left)
	100 … 	0° (front)
	200 … 	-90° (right)

For instance, the trigger code for a switch from C_1 = 0 to C_2 = 1 presented to the front is 113.



Listeners’ responses were coded by numbers from 5 to 9:
