Type locality: Red Sea.

Synonyms: Maera erythraea Kossmann, 1880.

Distribution. World: Red Sea (Kossmann 1880), India (Sivaprakasam 1968a).

India: South India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Sivaprakasam 1968a); Northern Bay of Bengal Ecoregion: Bay of Bengal (Surya Rao 1972).
