Making R Interactive With Shiny

  • 1. UNC Chapel Hill

Lorin Bruckner, Data Visualization Services Librarian at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, demonstrates the different ways that R Shiny apps have been used in her library including for patron projects, tutorials and for interdepartmental library statistics. She reviews the code used to generate an app and explain how R Shiny works differently from R. She talks about the user interface vs. server code, and how apps can be improved with some knowledge of HTML and CSS.
