A strategic five - year R I plan in the three thematic areas
Description
UNITA's Work Package 4 (WP4) on Research and Innovation (R&I) focuses on the three core
thematic areas of the alliance: Cultural Heritage (CH), Circular Economy (CE), and Renewable
Energies (RE). Its first task led by UPPA is devoted to “focussing research on territories” (Task
4.1). In order to fulfil the activities planned in the Grant Agreement and corresponding to
“connect research and learning” (Task 4.2) and to “energize the territories” (Task 4.3), three
R&I Hubs have been created and designed. The elaboration of these hubs has been a first
challenge, and it has been achieved in the frame of two sub tasks (Task 4.1.1, with deliverable
D 4.1.1 “Identifying actors in the three main areas” and task 4.1.2 with associated deliverable
4.1.2 “Designing models for UNITA R&I Hubs”). After only one year of operation for these
hubs, the results that have been obtained are numerous, and we are able to draw “A strategic
five-year R&I plan in the three thematic areas”, in the form of an ambition for their
development and extension. In this deliverable, we will hence focus on the results that were
obtained (also from associated Horizon Europe SwafS Initiative project n° 101035810 ReUNITA, devoted to research), and describe the “ambition” for the potential future of the hubs
that would make them Reference Institutes at a European level, for research and innovation
devoted to the development of our territories and stakeholders in the three (or more)
thematic areas.
