  • 1. Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, Ukraine

Description

The purpose of the article is to analyze the stage performance of the dancers of the Kyiv State Children’s Musical Theater during the second half of the 1980s (A. Kucheruk, Ye. Kostylova, L. Safronchyk, M. Krasnova, O. Storozhuk, A. Vdovychenko). Research methodology. The following research methods were applied: typology, general historical, historical-chronological, comparative-historical, systemic-structural, etc. The scientific novelty of the publication lies in the fact that it is the first to analyze the creative activity of the leading artists of the State Children’s Music Theatre, highlighting the peculiarities of their performance style. Conclusions. The analysis of the creative activity of the ballet dancers presented in the study – Anatolii Kucheruk, Yevheniia Kostylova, Liliia Safronchyk, Maryna Krasnova, Oksana Storozhuk, and Andrii Vdovychenko – shows that the professional level of the ballet company of the State Children’s Music Theatre in the second half of the 1980s met the high artistic standards of the best ballet companies not only in Ukraine but also in Europe. The repertoire policy of the theatre, expressed in the ballet parts of the artists, shows a wide stylistic range of performance, and, accordingly, a high professional level of performers capable of embodying works of different genres: from ballets of academic heritage and Soviet classics (Romeo and Juliet, The Young Lady and the Hooligan, etc.) to works by contemporary composers and choreographers (Thumbelina, May Night, Mowgli, etc.). The dancers’ creative achievements have confirmed their high technical level, acting skills, and considerable artistic potential. The work of these artists contributed to the overall development of national ballet art and its popularization in the world.
