Long-Term Archiving of (Biodiversity-Related) Data at the Archives of the Bavarian State

Presentation on the challenges for long-term archiving within the State Archives of Bavaria and a use case within NFDI4Biodiversity, between the General Directorate of the State Archives and the Bavarian Natural History Collections for the long-term archiving of a dataset (The Erysiphales Collection) and the associated database structure (Diversity Workbench) using the SIARD software of the Swiss Federal Archives.

The (virtual) presentation took place as part of the EU COST Action CA17106 on ‘Mobilising Data, Experts and Policies in Scientific Collections’ of the WG4 Workshop: Completing editorial work on the ‘Guideline for long-term preservation and archiving of data products from scientific collections facilities’ in Munich, Bavarian Natural History Collections (January 12-14, 2023).
