Etymology. Named after Dr. Yasushi Kusuoka (formerly of the Lake Biwa Museum), in appreciation of his efforts collecting the specimens and making them available to the author.

Type locality. Pool on limestone outcrop at coast of Nishiko, Kitadaitojima, Okinawa Prefecture (25.9539º N, 131.2843º E) (Fig. 1, locality 1).

JAPAN • 1 ♀, with soft parts dissected in glycerine and sealed in a slide, valves stored dry in a micropalaeontological slide; Okinawa Prefecture, Kitadaitojima, Nishiko; 25.9539º N, 131.2843º E; 14 Dec. 2010: Yasushi Kusuoka leg.; pool on limestone outcrop; LBM 1430009607.
