The Editorial Board of the Anuario de Estudios Americanos (AEA), in application of the guidelines established by the Guide to Good Practices of the Editorial CSIC and the recommendations of the international editorial ethics committees, has decided to proceed with the formal disavowal of the following article: Olivero Guidobono , Sandra, “Production and labor in the Jesuit haciendas of colonial Buenos Aires: La Chacarita and Las Conchas in the eighteenth century”, Anuario de Estudios Americanos, vol. 69, no. 2, Seville, Jul.-Dec. 2012,pp. 627-663, doi:10.3989/aeamer.2012.2.09 The disavowal is based on the following facts: The Anuario de Estudios Americanos only admits original and unpublished articles, and this is stated in its "Rules for the delivery of originals", published both in the version printed and electronic. The unauthorized article is mostly a duplication of another by the same author entitled “The properties of the Jesuits in Pago de la Costa: Lands, production and slave population. La Chacarita y Las Conchas, 1767-1777”, presented at the congress held from September 21 to 24, 1999 at the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) and published in Jesuits: 400 Years in Córdoba. International Congress, National University of Córdoba, Catholic University of Córdoba, Junta Provincial History of Córdoba, 2000, volume 4, pp. 417-445. The author sent her text to the journal on December 9, 2011, completely omitting the reference to that article. This omission contributed to the fact that the duplication was not noticed by the Editorial Board or by the external reviewers, which led to the acceptance and publication of an article that should have been rejected. The author alleges that she was unaware that her work had been published in the year 2000, an argument that the Editorial Board considers inconsistent given that said article appears in the list of the author's publications included in the jacket of her book Sociedad y Economía en San Isidro Colonial, published in 2006. In any case, this ignorance would not invalidate the objective fact of the existence of said previous publication, which alone justifies the disavowment of the article. The Yearbook of American Studies apologizes to its readers and will do everything possible to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. The Editorial Board will not take into account possible replies, counter-replies or comments to this editorial decision. This editorial note is incorporated into the electronic version of the unauthorized article and will be published in the next printed issue of the journal (AEA, 73 -2, Jul.-Dec. 2016).Seville, June 14, 2016eISSN: 1988-4273 ISSN: 0210 5810 School of Hispanic-American Studies (CSIC) ANUARIO DE ESTUDIOAMERICANOS SCHOOL OF HISPANIC-AMERICAN STUDIES
