Holotype (♂).

Type locality

Insel Palau [Micronesia, Caroline Islands].

Current status

Junior synonym of Rhytiphora livida (Matsushita, 1935).

Remarks

Ślipiński & Escalona (2013) proposed Prosoplus Blanchard, 1853, as junior synonym of Rhytiphora Audinet-Serville, 1835, with the consequent new combinations of its species.
