Piece log data

Dataset includes length data for every whole-round piece: bin length, whole-round piece length (measured by curation staff), and both the archive- and working-half piece lengths (optionally measured by scientists).Data File format

	Exp: expedition number
	Site: site number
	Hole: hole number
	Core: core number
	Type: type indicates the coring tool used to recover the core (typical types are F, H, R, X).
	Sect: section number
	A/W: archive (A) or working (W) section half.
	Top offset (cm): position of the upper edge of a piece, measured relative to the top of a section.
	Bottom offset (cm): position of the lower edge of a piece, measured relative to the top of a section.
	Top depth CSF-A (m): location of the upper edge of a piece expressed relative to the top of a hole.
	Bottom depth CSF-A (m): location of the lower edge of a piece expressed relative to the top of a hole.
	Top depth [other] (m): location of the upper edge of the sample expressed relative to the top of the hole. The location is presented in a scale selected by the science party or the report user.
	Bottom depth [other] (m): location of the lower edge of the sample expressed relative to the top of the hole. The location is presented in a scale selected by the science party or the report user.
	Piece Number: piece number in order from the top of the section.
	Bin length (cm): length between bin dividers measured by technical staff.
	Whole-round piece length (cm): measured by technical staff or defaults to bin length.
	Archive-half piece length (cm): measured by scientists along midline or defaults to WR piece length.
	Working-half piece length (cm): measured by scientists along midline or defaults to WR piece length.
	Comments: additional notes about the piece, if any.
	Label identifier: automatically generated, human readable name for a piece that is printed on labels.
