README Included here are output files from NASA GSFC 2D chemistry-dynamics model for supernova cosmic ray cases described in Thomas & Yelland 2023, "Terrestrial Effects of Nearby Supernovae: Updated Modeling", ApJ in press; preprint: https://arxiv.org/abs/2301.05757 Cases: - SN at 10 pc at 100 yr - SN at 20 pc at 100 yr - SN at 50 pc at 1000 yr - SN at 100 pc at 3000 yr For cases at 20, 50, and 100 pc a newer version of the GSFC model was used. For 10 pc case an older version was used. See referenced paper for more details. Also included is a control run used for comparison to 20, 50, and 100 pc cases, and a separate control run used for comparision to 10 pc case (since two different models are used). All files are in netCDF format; this is a self-describing format, so more detail on consituents, model grids, etc. can be found within. For 20, 50, and 100 pc cases, files include: - "specout" files that have model constituent values at altitude, latitude, and time points. - "colden" files that have column density values for select consitituents, such as ozone, at latitude and time points. For 10 pc case only column density data is included. Full data may be requested. For questions contact brian.thomas@washburn.edu
