CoAct Co-Evaluation Codebook
Description
This document presents the codebook for the qualitative content analysis that has been carried out for the provision and reflection of evaluation procedures in a large European research project. The Citizen Social Science Project CoAct was funded by the European Union from 2020 to 2022 and implemented participatory research methods in different settings and regions, driven by civil society groups and organisations. This method paper describes the CoAct co-evaluation codebook used to categorise data for analysis. It includes definitions for theory-driven categories derived from the Citizen Science Evaluation Framework, such as scientific dimension, citizens and individual actors, and socio-ecological and socio-economic aspects. We also present the definitions of empirically derived categories that were inductively coded. The publication of the codebook supports the validation of the claims made in our study.
