This repository includes four documents related to the paper "Task-specific policy capacities: A comparative analysis of cash transfer programs in Latin America and the Caribbean during the pandemic" published in International Public Policy Review:

• catalogue.xlsx: description of categorical variables in the responses_covid sheet of the db.xlsx file
• db.xlsx: an excel file with four sheets:
  • i) new or expanded social protection programs in response to the pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean with their characteristics (responses_covid)
  • ii) methodological considerations on the non-inclusion of certain programs of the previous sheet (other_considerations)
  • iii) data about the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean (countries)
  • iv) data about the oldest ongoing cash transfer program in the studied LAC countries (ctp)
• descriptors.xlsx: variable descriptors of the databases
• script_ippr.R: the code used for data analysis and visualizations
