TYPE LOCALITY: Italy, Campobasso Prov., Molise, 700 m.
DISTRIBUTION: Italy.
SYNONYMS: garganicus.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Sorex. Formerly included in araneus; considered a distinct species by Graf et al. (1979). Reviewed by Hausser (1990).
