TYPE LOCALITY: U.S. S. R., Buryat-Mongolsk A.S.S. R., Barguzin Ridge, N. E. corner of Lake Baikal, Sosnovka.

DISTRIBUTION: S. E. Norway and Finland through Siberia to the Pacific coast; Kamchatka; Sakhalin Isl.; Kurile Isis.; N.E. China (SW).

COMMENT: Possibly conspecific with sinalis; see Corbet, 1978:22, who included gravesi and ruthenus with sinalis. Dolgov, 1964, Zool. Zh., 43:893-903; Siivonen, 1969, Aquilo Ser. Zool., 7:42-49; and Kozlovskii and Orlov, 1971, Zool. Zh., 50: 1056-1062 provided evidence of specific distinctness and validity of the name isodon.
