Description

Currently, in many schools, there are great difficulties in approaching issues related to sexuality, often due to prejudice, myths and ignorance. However, the learning environment is plural and should not abstain from the responsibility of contributing to the development of citizens endowed with a critical sense, but also aware of their own identity. In addition, the benefits found in a responsible approach to Sex Education are highlighted, in the form of preventing early pregnancy and abortion in adolescence, the transmission of sexually transmitted infections, as well as the detection of cases of child abuse that, in most cases, sometimes they happen in the family environment. This work aims to point out the main benefits and challenges involved in Sex Education and its approach in the learning environment, highlighting its characteristics, advances and setbacks throughout history.
