A Conceptualisation of Resource Sharing in Business-to-Business Contexts and Guide for Future Research

  • 1. Hochschule Luzern

This study conceptualises B2B sharing by systematically reviewing 51 studies from three related literature fields that have not yet been integrated: B2B sharing, horizontal collaboration, and industrial symbiosis. Findings are structured into four key conceptual constructs (actors, resources, governance, motivations) and implementation barriers. Based thereon, three research avenues are identified. This study contributes to developing the emerging field of B2B sharing, which is under researched and practiced compared to C2C sharing. No study has yet investigated the origins and scope of this ill-defined concept, linked the current knowledge, and focused on the specific implementation barriers for further advancing the field.
