IAPNM 2011. 10th International Congress of the International Association on Public and Nonprofit Marketing

Description

Marketing discipline is facing a continuous process of change and evolution and more specifically when considering its application in the non-business fields. On this basis, ten years ago the First International Conference on Public and Nonprofit Marketing aimed the goal of establishing a regular place of meeting and exchange of ideas for academics and practitioners sharing their interest in one or another of related topics. A number of things have happened since then. The former Conference soon grew in number of papers and attendants, then turning its name into Congress. One of the challenges in the final discussion table in 2002, the establishment of an association to provide stability to the event, is also a reality under the acronym AIMPN/IAPNM. Just the same is true regarding the publication of the International Review on Public and Nonprofit Marketing, the first but now not the only periodical scientific publication in the Association. Ten years guarantee the trajectory of the Congress. The second digit of this number allows talking on a consolidated event, year by year a reference in the agenda of a increasing number of colleagues. And we can talk not only on meeting colleagues, but also on meeting friends from five continents, something that is not so common in this type of events. We would also take this lines to thank all those individuals and entities which in one way or another have contributed the Congress to be a reality over the years, not only to all members of the scientific and organizing committees, but also to those who anonymously collaborated with them, or especially to all of you who have presented and defended your contributions, selflessly devoting your time to the success of this adventure. Thank you very much to you all. We hope, finally, we all will see fulfilled our expectations for this new edition, either from the scientific or the human view. The attractiveness of Porto, its history, its monuments, the warmth of its people and the enthusiasm of the people in the organizing committee will undoubtedly contribute to turn once more this wish into reality. It is an honour and a pleasure for us to express the warmest welcome to each and every one of you attending the X International Congress on Public and Nonprofit Marketing.
