METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Cloud Resolving Model data (files: "L305_cond_2D_0000725220.nc", "sam_rce_domain_averages.nc", and "GATE_IDEAL_L305_cond_256_0000725220.nc") is generated using the System for Atmospheric Modeling version 6.10.3. See publication for details.
Methods for processing the data:
Satellite observations (file: "MODIS_EPSILON_2002-07_to_2019-09.nc") were obtained by dividing surface precipitation from TRMM 3B42RT by MODIS condensed water path.
SAM data for "sam_rce_domain_averages.nc" is processed by taking the average over the x-y domain in each simulation, then calculating precipitation over condensed water path (liquid + ice).
