Currently, some researchers consider interictal epileptic psychoses as a manifestation of epileptic encephalopathy. Epileptic encephalopathy is a condition where pathologically altered brain electrogenesis is the cause of brain dysfunctions. In which the epileptic process as such leads to progressive dysfunctions of the brain.
