Introduction to the Open Research Toolkit, IDCC Presentation, 2022-06-14

  • 1. University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Description

This lightning talk will introduce the Open Research Toolkit (ORT), an open education resource created by Christopher Eaker. The ORT is a 14-module education resource designed to introduce the foundational concepts in the open research ecosystem. The ORT was designed for librarians, students, and early career researchers who are interested in embracing and promoting the ideals of open research in their work and their institutions. Topics covered in the ORT include open access to published research, open data, FAIR data principles, open advocacy, and licensing, among others. This presentation discusses the background and process of developing the ORT. It will explain about the ORT, show the topics included in the ORT, demonstrate the ORT, and discuss future directions and sustainability.
