The EMPIR project “Establishing Traceability for Liquid Density Measurements” (EMPIR 17RPT02 rhoLiq) is a European project focused on the establishment of the degree of equivalence in liquid density measurements in Europe. This good practice guide was written as a part of activity A4.1.5 of the project and is meant to enhance the quality of density measurement results obtained by laboratories and industries employing oscillation-type density meters for liquids, to achieve the traceability of the derived quantity, liquid density, back to SI base units. For more information of the project, please visit or

The project EMPIR 17RPT02 rhoLiq has received funding from the EMPIR programme co-financed by the Participating States and from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
